Non-antibiotic alternatives to preventing urinary tract infections.
Prompted by the introduction of the Pharmacy First service in the UK, this e-module refreshes knowledge on the diagnosis and management of uncomplicated recurrent UTIs (rUTIs).
Users will understand the importance of antimicrobial stewardship in managing rUTIs to help reduce the risk of antibiotic resistance.
They will gain an overview of alternatives to antibiotic treatment for uncomplicated rUTIs, such as increased hydration, cranberry products, and probiotics.
This training was supported by a marketing campaign promoted across the Pharmacy Network.
